It's not often a front office gets to point to a move they made and say the direct result was a victory for their team. Yet, that is exactly what Pete Carroll and John Schneider get to do after the Seattle Seahawks' win over the San Diego Chargers on Sunday.
↵The Hawks acquired Leon Washington from the Jets for a fifth round pick on the third day of last year's draft. New York was dubious about giving Washington a multi-year deal after a horrendous broken leg injury last year, but Seattle saw an opportunity to pick up a potential playmaker on the cheap.
↵Boy, did they get a playmaker.
↵When you total it all up, even if Washington doesn't do another thing for the Seahawks all year, Carroll and Schneider essentially purchased a solitary victory for the price of a fifth round pick. Pretty good price?
↵I'd say so.
