Former Washington State Cougar Jason Hanson was injured in the second half of today's Detroit Lions' game, leading to one of the more hilarious extra point attempts you'll see. After a one-yard Matt Stafford touchdown, the Lions lined up for the PAT without Hanson. With no better options available, rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was called into action. We've seen it all now. Unfortunately for Suh, his first career attempt doinked off the upright.
↵Suh, a former soccer player (stop laughing), has apparently been kicking in practice for the Lions and won a preseason kicking contest. Still, seeing a 300+ pound defensive tackle lining up for, and attempting, an extra point is guaranteed to be the weirdest thing you see all day.
↵Here's hoping for a few more touchdowns -- or perhaps a last-second field goal attempt -- for the Lions. Suh kicking a game-winning field goal? Sure to be an instant classic.
