Matt Hasselbeck Injures Finger, Probable To Return

Stay connected for news and updates

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck injured his left thumb shortly before halftime while attempting a QB sneak on fourth down. Hasselbeck, who failed to convert, came out of the game holding the thumb on his non-throwing hand, leaving the field for x-rays before the half. He did not return from the locker room after the half, apparently still undergoing tests.

The Fox broadcast team mention Hasselbeck was still being checked out and that his return is probable. While he’s out, backup Charlie Whitehurst is at the helm for Seattle. After a shaky start last week, his struggles continued early in the second half today at Arizona. Whitehurst, after driving deep into Arizona territory, made a terrible decision, throwing an easy interception and killing the promising drive. Without Hasselbeck, and his hot hand, the Seahawks appear to be in some serious trouble.
