One Deon replaces another Deion in Seahawks practice this week after Deion Branch was traded to the New England Patriots. In his place, second year receiver Deon Butler will start for the Seahawks. Butler has made an impact this year for Seattle, showing off his route-running ability and making some clutch catches.
The Seattle PI's Greg Johns passed along word of the changes on Twitter today.
Pete Carroll says Deon Butler will start in Branch's vacated receiver spot, with Ben Obomanu also getting increased snaps.
Ben Obomanu may be the biggest benefactor of Branch's departure. Obomanu goes from little moved to likely seeing heavy time in the rotation with Branch gone.
