NBA Jam: On Fire Edition Will Include Gary Payton, Shawn Kemp

We interrupt your regularly scheduled sports programming to bring you a breaking video game alert. And boy, is it a big one. Since we don't have the Sonics here in Seattle anymore, reliving the glory days is a difficult task. Sure we can re-watch old videos or read about the 1993 playoffs as if there were happening today (note: I suggest reading that link, if only for the pictures of Sam Perkins), but it's not the same.

However, now you, I or anyone with a video game console will be able to travel back into time and party like the Sonics were still alive. NBA Jam: On Fire Edition will include our favorite Seattle sons, Shawn Kemp and Gary Payton. For me, it's a reminder of my childhood, goofing around, playing NBA Jam and throwing alley-oops to Kemp with The Glove. And I'm sure I'm not alone.

I don't care what else happens today. This is probably the best news out there. Head over to ESPN for a preview of the game, where you'll find a focus on Kemp and Payton.
