The Seattle Mariners failed in their bid to play the spoiler against the Baltimore Orioles, getting swept at home in three games. After a much-needed off day, the M's will have a chance to put a crimp -- however small -- into the late-season plans of the first-place Texas Rangers.
While the Mariners may be officially eliminated from postseason contention, they still have a chance to put an inconvenient hurt on their American League West rivals.
