Stay connected for news and updates

The Seattle Mariners have been red-hot at home recently, and they will look to continue their dominance at Safeco Field as they take on the Minnesota Twins Saturday night. Fresh off Felix Hernandez's perfect game against the Rays on Wednesday, Mariners rookie Hisashi Iwakuma pitched four consecutive perfect innings to start the game against the Twins on Friday en route to a 5-3 Seattle victory.

The Mariners will send Jason Vargas to the mound. Vargas holds a 2.63 ERA at Safeco Field this season. The Twins will counter with Scott Diamond, who boasts a 2.97 ERA of his own.

Seattle is clinging to slim Wild Card chances, as their recent hot streak has left them 8.5 games back of the Baltimore Orioles for the final playoff spot. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 pm.
