The Seattle Mariners are blazing hot right now. They have won seven straight and have swept two straight series following a 5-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday night.

Colby Rasmus hit a home run off of Seattle starter Blake Beavan in the first inning to stake the Blue Jays to an early lead. A homer from Kelly Johnson in the fourth inning made it 2-0 Toronto.

The Mariners scored a run in the bottom of the fourth on a double play to cut into the Blue Jays' lead, but Toronto got that run right back in the fifth with a Jeff Mathis sacrifice fly that made it 3-1. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Eric Thames, playing in his first game since coming over from the Blue Jays in a trade, hit a two-out, two-run homer to tie the game.

John Jaso hit an RBi single in the bottom of the sixth to put the Mariners ahead for the first time in the game, 4-3. Dustin Ackley added an insurance run with an RBI single in the seventh.

The Mariners will now have a day off before traveling to the Bronx to take on the New York Yankees and check in with their old friend, Ichiro Suzuki.
