The top U.S.-born minor league prospects from around the country tussled with the top foreign-born minor league prospects on Sunday in the 2012 MLB Futures Game at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City. The exhibition game was the first part of the festivities surrounding the All-Star Game.

The Seattle Mariners had two pitchers representing the organization and both performed well for the U.S. team, helping hold down the win. Danny Hultzen pitched the third inning, giving up one run on three hits while striking out a batter. Taijuan Walker, meanwhile, pitched the seventh inning, giving up no runs and allowing one hit and no walks while striking out one.

Nick Castellanos of the Detroit Tigers organization took home the MVP award by going 3-for-4 with a three-run homer.
