The Seattle Mariners have won two straight series. Can they make it three against the Yankees at Safeco Field?
The Seattle Mariners have won two straight series and finally appear to have some momentum. They come home from a very successful 5-2 road trip against the Kansas City Royals and Tampa Bay Rays and will kick off a three-game set against the New York Yankees at Safeco Field.
The Yankees, of course, present a much more significant threat than either of their two most recent opponents, but are also coming into town after suffering a four-game sweep at the hands of the suddenly red-hot Oakland Athletics. Perhaps the Mariners can be the second team to stun the Bronx Bombers this week.
TV Schedule & Probable Pitchers
Monday's game will begin at 7:10 p.m. PT and will be televised on ROOT Sports. You can catch the radio broadcast on 710 ESPN. Kevin Millwood has been a victim of criminally low run support and has not gotten a win in nine starts. Perhaps that will change on Monday as he takes on Hiroki Kuroda, who is going for his 10th win.
Tuesday's first pitch will be at 7:10 p.m. PT and the game will be televised on ROOT Sports. You can catch the radio broadcast on 710 ESPN. Seattle will have their ace on the mound for this one. Felix Hernandez has been fantastic lately and is going for his ninth win of the year. He'll take on Freddy Garcia, who is 4-3 with a 5.37 ERA.
Wednesday's finale will begin at 12:40 p.m PT and will be televised on ROOT Sports. You can catch the radio broadcast on 710 ESPN. In perhaps the most lopsided pitching matchup of the series, Hisashi Iwakuma will be coming off a strong start, but will be facing the Yankees' Ivan Nova, who is 10-4 with a 4.10 ERA.
