The Seattle Mariners have had a pretty rough go of things as of late. They will close out their current home stand with a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles, who will come to Safeco Field and the second-place team in the tough American League East.
The Orioles have been struggling themselves lately, going 3-7 over their last 10 games. They were swept in a short two-game series by the Los Angeles Angels before dropping two of three to the Cleveland Indians. The Orioles have just picked up some offensive help, however, acquiring Jim Thome as their new designated hitter thanks to a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies. The M's will be hoping that they can keep Jim Jam from mashing taters at Safeco.
