A piping hot cup of fresh sports tidbits.

With Spring Training only a few days away now, it's usually a good time to take a closer look at some of the up and comers within a team's minor league system, and ESPN's Keith Law has done just that. But Law isn't talking about a highlight reel machine, he's talking about the guy who is going to have some sneaky success and surprise everybody.
Make the jump to see what he has to say.
Here's Law's take on Castillo's potential:
Outfielder Phillips Castillo is several years away, but the hit tool and potential for power down the road are very enticing -- the ball comes off his bat as though he was several years older than he is (18), but he'll need development in most other areas, from pitch recognition to defense to baserunning.
When a kid is 18, his future can go a number of different ways. But Castillo certainly has a solid foundation to build on at becoming an everyday major leaguer. Keep you eye on him, he'll be making some noise soon.
