Dave Niehaus Tributes, Macklemore Concert To Be Streamed On Mariners Website

If you can't make it to the Seattle Mariners home opener on Friday night, you're in luck. The pregame festivities, which include plenty of tributes to Hall of Fame broadcaster Dave Niehaus, will be broadcast both on ROOT Sports and online at the Mariners website. The Mariners have asked fans to wear white shoes to Safeco Field on Friday night as a tribute to Niehaus, and the 30 minutes before the first pitch will be filled with music, memories and more.

Macklemore is set to perform his "My Oh My" tribute to Niehaus ahead of the game and Marilyn Niehaus, the widow of Dave, will throw out the first pitch at the home opener. In addition to the tributes, Felix Hernandez will be presented with his Cy Young award as the Mariners honor their award-winning star in front of the adoring home crowd.

So wear those white shoes if you're going, or even if you're not, and get to the ballpark early. The ceremonies get underway at 6:30 p.m., live on ROOT Sports and at Mariners.com.
