Greg Halman Stabbed To Death, Brother Of Mariners Player Suspected

According to reports from Netherlands, Mariners outfielder Greg Halman was stabbed to death in Rotterdam. His younger brother has been arrested as a suspect in the killing.

Seattle Mariners young outfielder Greg Halman has been stabbed to death according to a tragic news story out of the Netherlands. The report says that Halman's younger brother, Jason, has been arrested as a suspect in the incident.

Police spokesman Patricia Wessels told the Associated Press: "He is under arrest and right now he is being questioned. It will take some time to figure out what exactly happened."

Halman, 24, appeared in 35 games for the Mariners playing various outfield positions. He was signed by the team as a free agent in 2004 and played in the Mariners minor league system since the age of 17. He was born in Haarlem, Netherlands and like his father, Eddy, played for the Dutch National Baseball Team.
