The left-hander struck out 10 and limited the A's to three hits and two runs. Brendan Ryan broke the 2-2 tie with a base hit in the eighth inning on Tuesday night. I made many interesting observations while I attended the scarcely attended baseball game at Safeco Field, but one standout of Tuesday night's win was the FUR-BUSH chants that broke out when Charlie Furbush was on the mound. 2013 guard prospect Zach Lavine committed to UCLA on Wednesday. Lavine is the consensus No. 1 player and prospect from the state of Washington. The Bothell HS shooting guard has one of the sweetest shooting strokes on the West Coast and can create for himself off the dribble. He lacks the same killer scoring ability and athleticism of past top prospects like Tony Wroten and Peyton Siva, but has the potential to become a star in the Pac-12. Washington released its non-conference basketball schedule for next season. Highlights include home games against defending Division II national champion Western Washington and Nevada, neutral games against Seton Hall and Ohio St./Rhode Island and one road game against the UConn Huskies.

Chris Clemons did not show up on Tuesday to Seahawks' mandatory mini-camp. Head Coach Pete Carroll told reporters he is "surprised" Clemons is holding out. Field Gulls goes in-depth on the issue.
