Seattle Seahawks' DE Chris Clemons Earns Player Of The Week Honors

Kirby Lee-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Chris Clemons 4-sack performance on Monday Night Football earn him NFC Defensive Player of the Week award.

Chris Clemons, one of the most underrated acquisitions of the Pete Carroll/John Schneider era, is finally starting to get some well-deserved respect.

Clemons, who totaled four of the Seahawks' eight first-half sacks against Green Bay on Monday Night Football, was named the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week this morning.

After posting 11 sacks in each of his first two season in Seattle, Clemons held out briefly this summer, but he and the organization were able to get a deal done.

After 3 games Clemons now bring his season total to five sacks, good enough for 3rd in the entire NFL.

The Seahawks now travel to St. Louis to face the Rams on Sunday. The Rams are tied for second in the league (ironically, behind Green Bay) for sacks allowed, with 12, so Clemons and his buddies on the DL may be in store for another big day.
