2012 U.S. Open Leaderboard: Tiger Woods Struggles Early

The leaders are just beginning to tee off in Round 4 of the 2012 U.S. Open, and already it looks like Tiger Wood's chance to make a play is slipping away. He needed to follow his 75 from Round 3 with a great performance to have any shot at the lead, and through the first four he's already 5-over. A bogey each on the first two holes and a double bogey on three piled up early. He had a shot at a birdie on hole four, but with the fog slowing down the greens, his putt came up short and he had to settle for par. The same problem struck on hole five, as a put for par slowed up before the hole and forced another bogey.

The early returns haven't seen anyone make any big moves on the leaderboard. K.J. Choi has had one of the best days at 2-under, but he's still at +5 for the tournament, sitting in 16th place. The serious contenders have yet to get started, though, so the action is still to come. 17 year old Beau Hossler is off to a strong start, holding at par through two. The remaining leaders will tee off shortly, finishing with the two men tied for first, Jim Furyk and Graeme McDowell at 3:10pm PDT. That's when things really get started, as the pressure mounts and sorts out the crowding at the top of the leaderboard.
