Leaf's Arrest Result Of Month-Long Investigation

Former Washington State QB Ryan Leaf was arrested on Friday on burglary and drug-related charges.

The oft-troubled former first-round draft pick was being tracked for a month by police according to this article by Christian Caple.

Unlike many who suffer from addiction, Leaf has had to fight this battle mostly in the public eye. We'll continue to follow the story as more news comes out.

Husky Football Spring Preview

The University of Washington kicks off spring football today, and the Tacoma News-Tribune's Ryan Divish ran a preview this morning.

The Huskies, as we've noted here in The DTP, will be making the move to morning practices - one of many changes taking place at U-dub this spring. Divish elaborates on that, and the other changes, as well as five questions the Huskies hope to answer by the end of spring ball.

Steve Sarkisian's Pre-Spring Presser

Also from Ryan Divish is video/audio from Sark's pre-srping press conference that took place Friday.

Sark hits on everything from depth (or lack thereof), injury updates and even discusses possibly revisiting the "running back-by-committee" that he famously juggled at USC. And of course, he talks about the defense.

LaMichael James Gives Back

Ex-Oregon RB, and current NFL prospect, LaMichael James returned home this week to give back to his alma mater Liberty-Eylau High School in Texarkana, Texas.

James donated equipment from SKLZ, a company he now represents, for student-athletes at the school. Naturally, he also spoke to the student-body about overcoming odds and disadvantages of being from a small town. It's always good to see athletes giving back to the community. Good work LMJ.

OSU Spring Depth Chart

Oregon State released its spring depth chart, and as expected the Beavers will be without a handful of players this spring, notably, along the offensive line.

One thing that is encouraging, however, is that Cliff Kirkpatrick points out that 85% of the team gained weight this offseason. That's a testament to the Beavers' strength coach and his staff.
