Pangos Feels Gonzaga Is A 'Great Fit'

Stay connected for news and updates

Jim Meehan of the Spokesman-Review in Spokane caught up for a few moments with Gonzaga's most recent verbal commit, Kevin Pangos, who elaborated on his decision to go with the Zags:

"Really it was just the (GU) coaching staff, they've been great with me," Pangos said. "I felt it was a great fit for me academically and athletically. I feel like they can make me the best I can be as a player. They came up and visited me about a year ago and from there they've been really serious and stayed in touch. Virginia never formally offered, but it was getting pretty serious."

Scouting reports on Pangos are few and far in between, but Draftexpress.com scouted him at the FIBA U-17 championships, where Pangos was Canada's starting point guard:

The clear-cut leader and go-to guy on this Canadian national team, Kevin Pangos had a strong outing in Hamburg and only added to his already impressive resume. Not exceptionally athletic (but likely more physically gifted than we initially gave him credit for), Pangos has good size for a point guard to go along with excellent footwork and a terrific basketball IQ.

The gist of the rest of the report? He sounds like your typical Gonzaga guard -- which is great news for the Bulldogs.
