Oregon jumps LSU for the No. 2 spot in the AP Top 25.
A late-night beat down of the Arizona Wildcats was not ignored in Sunday's Associated Press Top 25 poll, as the Oregon Ducks leapfrogged the LSU Tigers to claim the No. 2 spot in this week's edition of the college football poll.
The Ducks' 49-0 victory over the Wildcats, who were ranked No. 22 in last week's AP Poll, proved more impressive to voters than LSU's road struggle against Auburn, which LSU won, 12-10.
Oregon's swap with LSU is not slight, either, as the Ducks land a strong 68 points ahead of the Tigers in the latest poll.
As both the Pac-12 and SEC scheduled begin to heat up, expect the Ducks and Tigers to be locked in a battle for that No. 2 spot in the coming weeks as both angle for the chance to stay as close to the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide as they can. Alabama is once again an overwhelming No. 1, claiming 59 of the 60 first place votes in the poll.
