The top seed in the Spokane region, Stanford, looks to keep its title hopes alive against Georgia while LSU faces the Cal Bears.

As one of the legitimate threats to defending champion Baylor, the Stanford Lady Cardinal must first get past a tough Georgia team. The Lady Bulldogs won 27 games and finished third in the SEC behind Tennessee and Kentucky. But the Stanford women were nearly flawless through Pac-12 play, finishing 17-1 and tying with Cal for the regular season title.

Speaking of the Lady Bears, they take on LSU in another Pac-12/SEC matchup. The Lady Tigers upset Penn State in the Round of 32 to advance, while Cal took care of Fresno State and South Florida. LSU is certainly an underdog, having finished sixth in its own conference and only winning two-thirds of its regular-season games.

Here's the schedule for Spokane:

No. 1 Stanford vs. No. 4 Georgia, 9 p.m ET, ESPN/Watch ESPN

No. 2 Cal vs. No. 6 LSU, 11:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2/Watch ESPN

Seattle is looking at the Tigers outfielder in case Josh Hamilton signs elsewhere.

The Mariners are going to get outfield help this offseason. Whether they sign a blockbuster free-agent like Josh Hamilton or commit to a series of smaller moves has yet to be seen. One of the latter options appears to be Tigers' outfielder Brennan Boesch, who has drawn the interest of the Mariners, according to Fox Sports' Jon Paul Morosi.

The lefty-swinging outfielder has shown he can be an above-average hitter, sporting a .799 OPS in 2011. He has also struggled with consistency, seeing his OPS drop to .659 in 2012. The former third-round pick is in his first year of arbitration and would be under team control until 2016.

The Mariners previously signed Jason Bay to an outfield that includes Franklin Guitierrez, Michael Saunders and Casper Wells. Boesch, like Bay, would be another lottery ticket for the Ms to put in their pocket and hope to get above-average production from at the plate.

Morosi thinks the Tigers are interested in acquiring left-handed relief help, with Oliver Perez, Lucas Luetge and Charlie Furbush mentioned as possible pieces.

Leading all Seahawks in receptions and yards, Rice could be a significant loss going into the weekend

Sidney Rice's injured foot could keep him out of Sunday's game against the Bills, according to Pro Football Talk and SportsRadioKJR's Curtis Crabtree. According to reports, Rice is in a walking boot and did not practice on Wednesday after the injury flared up following Seattle's win vs. the Cardinals. The Seahawks are playing the Bills Week 15 at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, an annual tradition Buffalo started in 2008.

After playing in just nine games last year because of various injuries, the 26-year-old receiver has managed to play every game for the Seahawks this season. His production has increased as well, as he's caught 45 passes for 658 yards and seven touchdowns. That may not seem like much, but in Seattle's league-low passing volume offense, Rice is first or tied for first on the team in all three categories.

Among Rice's season highlights were his 46-yard, go-ahead TD against the Patriots in Week 6 and his game-winning overtime touchdown reception against the Bears in Week 13. Upon catching the ball and after crossing the plane of the endzone, Rice was leveled by Chicago defenders and knocked out cold, but the touchdown counted.

Pete Carroll said the X-rays and MRI was negative for structural damage, so as long as Rice can get the pain under control, he has a chance to play Sunday. The Seahawks will certainly hope he improves over the next few days, as he's an integral part of their offense.

When the Seahawks travel to Toronto to play Buffalo, they will bring their newest duds.

The Pacific Northwest has been the home of, let's say, interesting uniform choices from its various teams. From the peppy green of the Supersonics, to the turquoise iterations of the Mariners' uniforms, to the many species of Duck found in Oregon, our Birkenstocked brethren have never let us down. So it comes as no surprise that the Seahawks will don their sixth uniform variation of the year (by my count - all blue, all white, blue-top grey-bottom, blue-top white-bottom, white-top grey-bottom), and now the all-wolf-grey uniform combination for the first time, when they travel to the Rogers Centre to play the Buffalo Bills in Toronto on Sunday.

The Seahawks completely re-designed their unis in 2002, with the move coinciding with the opening of CenturyLink Field and then again over this past offseason, with the help of Nike's product team as the NFL shifted to their products. Variations have been plentiful, most popular/least popular being these memorable lime-green choices. But with the Seahawks first trip to Canada, Seattle will take the opportunity to debut their all-wolf grey attire.

Week 15's game will be the first time the Seahawks have left the country for a regular-season game. The Bills began playing an annual game in Toronto in 2008, with Buffalo 1-3 across the border thus far.

Throughout their history, Seattle has been known for their loud crowds, referred to as the "12th man"

Where were you when the clock struck 12:12 on 12/12/12? Celebrating? The Seattle Seahawks media department sure was. The franchise that retired #12 in honor of its fans took to Twitter to celebrate the offbeat holiday. What resulted was an instagram-a-thon that provided an inside look at CentruyLink Field and the history of the Seahawks' "12th Man".

For those not yet indoctrinated, a brief history of the 12th Man: In 1976, the Seahawks joined the NFL as an expansion team. Quickly Seattle faithful became known as the loudest fans in football, using crowd noise to affect the performance of the opposing team. In 1984, the team retired the #12, which hangs in the rafters alongside Steve Largent's #80 and Cortez Kennedy's #96.

The Seahawks and their fans took the concept even further in 2003, when it became a CLink tradition to have fans, celebrities or local politicians raise a flag that bears #12 before every home game. Along with Seahawks legends like Walter Jones...

....hoisters have included Paul Allen, Ken Griffey Jr., and Hope Solo.

The players respect and appreciate the crowd contributions that have led to the most opponent false-start penalties in the NFL since the stadium was built...

Russell Wilson & Co. hit the road to try to improve their Wild Card chances against Chicago

The upstart Seattle Seahawks look to emerge as Wild Card favorites against a Chicago Bears team that has lost two of three. The 6-5 Seahawks take on the 8-3 Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday.

Last Sunday, the Seahawks defense allowed Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins to engineer a last-minute touchdown drive to clinch a 24-21 loss. That same defense may be getting hampered by the loss of both of its cornerbacks. Both Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner tested positive for Adderall and are facing four-game suspensions. Whether they seek appeals and try to play this week remains to be seen.

After a 7-1 start the Chicago Bears had their first hiccup of the season: consecutive losses to the Texans and 49ers. But Jay Cutler returned from injury as did the Bears mojo as they trounced the Vikings, 28-10, last Sunday. Chicago is clinging on to a one-game lead in the NFC North over the Packers, who get their turn at the Vikings this week.

The sophomore from Auburn, WA started every game for the Huskies this season and compiled 37 tackles.

The highlight of Shelton's season was a 10-tackle performance against LSU, who was No. 3 in the country at that time. His great play is punctuated by a 3.47 grade point average. Shelton is majoring in anthropology.

Four of Shelton's teammates earned Honorable Mention from the Pac-12: senior FB Jonathan Amosa, sophomore WR DiAndre Campbell, redshirt freshman LB Travis Feeney and sophomore LB John Timu.

To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, a player must be a starter or significant contributor and hold a grade point average above 3.0.

The Huskies finish their season on Friday when they play for the Apple Cup against rival Washington State. Washington has won the last three Apple Cup games.

After starting every game in his career, the senior may miss the rivalry game against UW

Washington State has one more chance to win a Pac-12 game this season when they square off on Friday against rival Washington. An injury to linebacker Travis Long could hurt their chances to win.

Long's status is uncertain for the game as a knee injury has kept the senior out of practice all week, according to the Associated Press. Long is the best player on his side of the ball for the Cougars, and his 9.5 sacks this season is fourth in the Pac-12.

Long, a native of Spokane, has started every game in his career - 47 in all - since joining the team as a freshman in 2009. But the senior has never seen a victory in the Apple Cup, as the Cougars haven't won it since defeating the Huskies 16-13 in 2008.

Washington enters the game with a 5-3 record in Pac-12 play and is No. 25 in the most recent BCS poll.

The Seahawks' on-field success is being recognized, as three Seattle players make Pro Football Weekly's All-Pro list.

For a Seahawks team looking for their first winning season since 2007, team performance is more important than that of any particular individual. But when you're 5-4 and poised to make a playoff run, why not stop and smell the All-Pro roses? Pro Football Weekly has released their list of Midseason All-Pros, and RB Marshawn Lynch, CB Richard Sherman and S Earl Thomas all made the list.

Seattle tied for the most entries on this list with three, sharing the honor with the 49ers, Bears and Vikings. Lynch is on the list because he is averaging just under 100 yards per game and is on pace to set a career-high with over 1,500 yards. The running game fuels the Seahawks offense and takes pressure off rookie QB Russell Wilson.

Defense, though, has been the most surprising aspect of Seattle's success this season. The Seahawks D is tied for third in fewest points allowed per game, with just 17.1. From their secondary positions, Sherman and Thomas have been a huge part of that. Cornerback Sherman is the basis for the defense's swagger, evidenced by his mocking of Tom Brady after the Seahawks defeated the Patriots. Thomas is the hard-hitting safety over the top, who was a first-round pick for Seattle in 2010. The defense has been nicknamed "The Legion of Boom", a clear reference to this or this.
Wilson gets his due, having led the Seahawks to a 5-4 record in 2012.

For the player who threw the most spectacular and infamous pass of the NFL season in Week 3, it's hard to figure out why Russell Wilson isn't getting enough credit. Well Russell, here's some. On Yahoo!'s Shutdown Corner blog, Doug Farrar names the Seahawks QB to his midseason All-Underrated Team, finishing ahead of division rival Alex Smith and Bucs QB Josh Freeman.

Farrar cites this past Sunday's three-touchdown showing against the Vikings as a sign that Pete Carroll has taken the training wheels off for Wilson, and that the third-round pick can succeed when given the opportunity. Coming out of Wisconsin, the league was uncertain that Wilson's 5'10 stature would allow him to play the position, allowing him to fall in the third round to Seattle.

As Farrar cites in the article, Wilson leads all rookie quarterbacks in touchdowns with 13. That's more than top picks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, with Griffin being the only of those two to have a superior passer rating to the Seahawks QB.
