Ryan Moore had another solid performance at the 2012 BMW Championship. Moore was in contention to win all week as he always hovered around the top ten but he struggled on the weekend, piling up a 73 on Saturday and was left a little bit out of contention for Sunday's action. Moore did recover with a Sunday 70, overcoming three bogeys with birdies on the first, eighth and 18th holes while also putting up a highlight eagle on the ninth hole. Moore finished at 13-under par, in a tie for 10th place with Bo Van Pelt.
Meanwhile, it was Rory McIlroy who would win another tournament, piling up another strong final round 67. Lee Westwood finished in second place in a tie with Phil Mickelson. Tiger Woods was right behind in a tie for fourth with Robert Garrigus. In terms of golfers with Pacific Northwest connections, Kyle Stanley finished six-under after a final round 75, and Ben Crane finished four-under with a final round 72.

Phil Mickelson shot a round-best 64 on Saturday to shoot to the top of the leaderboard at the BMW Championship in Carmel, Indiana. The lefty's eight-under round was two strokes better than anyone else on the day, bringing his tournament total to 16-under par. That mark ties him with Vijay Singh, who shot three under par on the afternoon.
Ryan Moore, the UNLV golfer who was raised in Tacoma, Was., fell out of the top ten with a one-over-par round. He currently sits at 11-under and is tied for 12th place.
Lee Westwood's four-under effort now has him tied for third place with Rory McIlroy, who won the Deutsche Bank Championship last week. Both are at 15-under par and one shot behind the leaders. Tiger Woods, meanwhile, shot four bogeys in his first eight holes before recovering his round and finishing one-under par on the day. His tournament score of 13-under has him alone in eighth place.

Vijay Singh is holding off Rory McIlroy midway through the third round at the 2012 BWM Championship, picking up back-to-back birdies on holes No. 5 and 6 to sit in the lead at 15-under overall. McIlroy is 13-under, and both men are through six holes. Tiger Woods hasn't been so successful, he's 2-over through seven after following a birdie on hole No. 6 with a birdie on the seventh. That leaves him 10-under in total and outside of the top 10.
D.A. Points is the man on the green having the best round, currently 5-under through seven. Phil Mickelson has made a move, going 4-under through the front nine and moving into a tie for third. The conditions on the course are rough, though, so the leaderboard is extremely active.

Vijay Singh looked like the Vijay Singh of old Friday, turning in a 6-under 66 in the second round of the 2012 BMW Championship to stand alone atop the leaderboard sitting at 13-under.
Singh sank seven birdies on the day against just one bogey on the par-4 fourth. He bounced back from that miscue to birdie one more final time to take a one shot lead over Tacoma native Ryan Moore.
Moore, who propelled himself to first earlier in the day with a 4-under front nine, shot the same 6-under 66 as Singh and now sits in a three way tie for second with Rory McIlroy and Tiger Woods. McIlroy had a share of the overnight lead but some erratic play, including four bogeys on par-4 holes, gave him a 3-under 69 Friday.

Ryan Moore kept up his good run of play at the 2012 BMW Championship. He currently is two strokes off the lead after the first round of play. Moore played a spotless round of golf, piling up six birdies, twelve pars, and no bogeys. Moore birdied the sixth, eight, 10th, 11th, 15th and 18th holes to finish with a first round of 66. Moore is tied for seventh, trailing golfers like Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.
Ben Crane also had a solid round, finishing with a first round of 67. Crane had five birdies on the second, third, ninth, 11th, and 17th holes, bogeys on the fourth and the 14th, and then an eagle on the 15th to cap off a wild five-under round. Kyle Stanley also did alright, birdieing the 2nd, 9th, 11th, 13th and 15th holes while bogeying the 16th. Crane finishes in a tie for 10th place; Stanley is tied for 16th.
