2012 Deutsche Bank Championship Results: Rory McIlroy Comes Out On Top

Rory McIlroy has come back to win the 2012 Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston with a final-round 67. He finished 20-under for the weekend, one stroke ahead of second-place Louis Oosthuizen.

Oosthuizen came into the final day with a three-stroke lead, but his Monday took an unfortunate turn with a double bogey on the fifth hole. McIlroy would go on to tie Oosthuizen with a birdie on the sixth hole, then take the lead on the eighth with another birdie. McIlroy would not surrender the lead after that.

Tiger Woods finished 18-under and in third place after a 66 in the final round. He came out hot, with four birdies on the front nine. For the day he finished with no bogeys and five birdies to put himself in contention towards the end.

Phil Mickelson also went 5-under on the final day to rise from ninth to a tie for fourth. Mickelson finished strong with 3-under over the back-nine and a birdie on 18.

Ryan Moore came through with the best showing for the Pacific Northwest. The Tacoma native struggled on the back-nine, with three bogeys and a double bogey before getting back on track to birdie the last two holes and finish 10-under for the weekend in 10th.

Kyle Stanley, a native of Gig Harbor, shot an even 71 on Monday, leaving him at 2-under for the tournament in a tie for 42nd place.
