The Washington Huskies trail No. 8 Stanford 6-3 at halftime. The Cardinal added a late second quarter field goal to take the halftime lead.
The game was tied 3-3 after the first quarter and remained tied until Stanford was able to put a drive together at the end of the second half. The Cardinal reached the Husky 10-yardline, but Washington's defense was able to hold Stanford to just a field goal.
The Huskies have limited Stanford to just 134 first half yards. Stepfan Taylor entered the game averaging 112.6 yards per game, but was limited to 46 yards on 11 carries in the first half. The Washington defense did a good job in the first half of getting off the field, allowing Stanford to convert just 2-of-9 third down conversions.
While the Husky defense played well, the Washington offense struggled in the first half, gaining just 138 total yards. Keith Price completed 8-of-18 passing attempts for 76 yards. Bishop Sankey had a strong first half, gaining 63 rushing yards on 10 attempts. Kasen Williams is the only Husky with more than one catch in the game, Williams caught five first half passes for 61 yards.
The Huskies will receive the kickoff to begin the second half.
