The Washington Huskies are tied 3-3 with the No. 8 Stanford Cardinal after the first quarter of Thursday's game.
Stanford got on the board first with a field goal on its second offensive possession, but Washington was able to add a field goal of its own two possessions later. The Huskies' field goal was set up by a leaping 35-yard reception by Kasen Williams. The play occurred on a third down with Williams just able to get his foot in bounds.
Keith Price completed 4-of-11 passes in the first half for 55 yards. The Huskies have yet to get much of a running game going with Bishop Sankey leading the team with seven rushing yards on two carries. Williams leads the receivers with three catches for 48 yards.
The Husky defense did a good job of slowing Stanford running back Stepfan Taylor in the first quarter; Taylor rushed for 24 yards and was unable to break anything long with a long rush of five yards.
Washington will have possession when the second quarter begins.
