2012 Tour Championship: Ryan Moore Tied In 12th Place After First Round

Ryan Moore is tied for12th place after Thursday's first round of THE TOUR Championship in Atlanta, Ga. The Tacoma, Wash. native got off to a fast start on the front nine, birdieing three of the first four holes.

He is three shots back of leaders Tiger Woods and Justin Rose, who each shot 4-under in the first round of the final FedEx Cup playoff event of the year. Woods took the points lead from Rory McIlroy on Thursday as the Irishman sat with Moore at 1-under par.

Rose ended the day in style. On the 18th hole, he managed to curve a birdie putt into the on the par 3 hole from 52 yards out.

Bo Van Pelt, Scott Piercy, Matt Kuchar and Steve Stricker are tied in third place one shot back of Woods and Rose.
