2012 Deutsche Bank Championship: Louis Oosthuizen Separates Himself From Pack With Electrifying Third Round

Stay connected for news and updates

South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen was in the zone Sunday, stringing together seven straight birdies to jump out to a three-shot lead with only one round to play at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Oosthuizen's incredible streak included going 19 consecutive holes without missing a green. He ended the par-5 18th with a birdie as well that gave him an 8-under 63 on the day. His total score of -19 is a new record through the first 54 holes of play.

Rory McIlroy was solid in his own right but the 23-year-old golfer's 4-under round wasn't enough to keep up with the sweet swinging Oosthuizen.

Dustin Johnson remains in striking distance, tied in third place with Tigers Woods at -13 under. Sunday marked Woods second straight round of 68.

The final round begins early Monday morning. For a complete listing of the leaderboard, visit the PGA's website.
