College Football Rankings 2012: Oregon Ducks Move Up A Spot, Oregon State Last Team Out

The Oregon Ducks moved up a spot to No. 3 in the latest Associated Press College Football Poll, benefiting from the upset of fellow Pac-12 power USC at the hands of the Stanford Cardinal.

The Ducks now sit behind the two SEC teams that played for the national championship last season in No. 1 Alabama and No. 2 LSU. Alabama grabbed 58 out of a possible 60 first place votes while LSU grabbed the final two.

Oregon will have to just stay the course and hope they can infiltrate the stranglehold the SEC has on the top spots in the poll. Staying undefeated is the one thing the Ducks can control and they've done their part so far in starting 3-0. The Trojans dropped from No. 2 to No. 13 while Stanford made the biggest jump from No. 21 to No. 9.

The Oregon St. Beavers are next in line to join the top 25 party as the Beavers were the first team out. The Beavers would join Oregon, Stanford, USC, the UCLA Bruins and Arizona Wildcats as ranked Pac-12 teams.
