Former Alabama CB Travell Dixon To Transfer To Washington Per Report

Alabama cornerback Travell Dixon is set to transfer to the University of Washington, according to a report from Scout.com.

Dixon, a juco transfer who signed with Alabama last year before leaving the program in August, cited "family and personal reasons" for his decision to switch schools.

Dixon was widely regarded as one of the top juco cornerbacks in the nation coming out of East Arizona Community College with a 4.4 40 time and above-average ball skills (four interceptions during his sophomore campaign).

With NCAA transfer rules, he'll have to sit out the 2012 season, but still has two more years of eligibility following that.

Dixon should have a better chance at playing time in Washington compared to the uphill battle he was fighting in Alabama's stacked secondary. He'll be a prime candidate to slide into the starting lineup as a replacement for senior Desmond Trufant in 2013.
