Mariners Vs. Twins Final Score: Seattle Picks Up Another Big Win, 5-2

Stay connected for news and updates

The Seattle Mariners are making themselves right at home at Target Field. On Tuesday, Seattle picked up their second straight win over the Minnesota Twins by a final score of 5-2.

The Mariners got the scoring started in the top of the third inning as Kyle Seager hit a big two-out double to stake Seattle to a quick 2-0 lead.

The Twins were able to cut that lead in half in the bottom of the third on a Ben Revere sacrifice fly, but Dustin Ackley was able to deliver the knockout blow for the Mariners. Ackley belted his 10th home run of the year in the fifth inning, a three-run blast that made it 5-1 Mariners. The home run also gave the M's five hitters with double-digit home runs for the first time since 2009.

Hisashi Iwakuma was terrific, giving up an unearned run on one hit and four walks in six innings of work.

Ryan Doumit hit an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning, bringing the Twins another run closer, but Tom Wilhelmsen was able to get the save -- his 20th of the year.

The Mariners will try to manage the series win with a victory on Wednesday.
