The 2012 Barclays, Leaderboard Update: Padraig Harrington Takes Lead On Thursday

The 2012 Barclays is underway at Bethpage Black in New York, and it's Irishman Padraig Harrington that has jumped out to an early lead on Thursday on the first day of the PGA Tour playoffs.

Harrington shot an opening round of 64, leaving him atop the leaderboard at 7-under. Nick Watney, Gary Christian and Brian Harman all sit just one shot behind Padraig at 6-under. Six players are currently within three shots of the lead.

As for Tiger Woods, he finished his day with a 3-under 69, setting himself up nicely for the rest of the tournament. Phil Mickelson and Zach Johnson each fired 69's as well to finish four shots off the lead.

Rory McIlroy shot an opening round 70, finding himself 2-under for the tourney.
