Seattle Sounders midfielder Andy Rose has been listed as out with broken ribs following a nasty tackle in last Saturday's 2-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Rose was taken out on a studs-up challenge by Gershon Koffie in the 91st minute, who received a yellow card for his actions. Koffie was later suspended for one match by the MLS Disciplinary Committee for the foul and fined an undisclosed amount of money for a gesture he made to referee Silviu Petrescu after the fact.
Rose had been getting significant minutes and was rewarding Coach Sigi Schmid with solid play as the Sounders look to try and keep pace with Real Salt Lake in the Western Conference.
Koffie had just returned from serving a suspension due to card accumulation and will miss Vancouver's upcoming Cascadia Cup match against the Portland Timbers this weekend.
