Seattle Seahawks Training Camp Update: Secondary Impresses

The Seattle Seahawks ended their training camp on Thursday, and the one unit that has impressed Seahawks.com beat writer Clare Farnswroth the most is the team's secondary. Brandon Browner, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas are all poised for solid seasons according to Farnsworth.

"I think the sky is the limit," veteran cornerback Marcus Trufant said Thursday, after the final practice of his 10th training camp and the team's third under Carroll.

"These guys were good last year and I think they're going to get better this year. The athleticism and the football smarts in the defensive back room are real big. We've got some great coaching and the guys are really just coming together - Earl, Kam, Sherm, B.B. It's all coming together." (Via: Seahawks.com)

The secondary is led by Thomas, the Seahawks' best defensive player. Along with being named to the Pro Bowl in his second season, Thomas also earned second team All-Pro honors in 2011.

Cornerback Brandon Browner is also coming off a Pro Bowl season. Browner appears more than ready to start week one off of the right foot as made evident by his pick six off of Matt Hasselbeck in last weekend's preseason game.

Along with praising the Seahawks' secondary, Farnsworth also handed out training camp awards for other categories including best offensive player (Marshawn Lynch) and best rookie (Robert Turbin).
