As the summer nears an end and Madden prepares to hit the shelves, EA Sports always releases a demo for fans to get a taste of what's to come. With the Madden NFL 13 demo scheduled to be released on August 14, news has come that two exhibition games will be playable.

One of them is a rematch of last year's NFC Championship Game. The other: Seahawks vs. Redskins.

The decision to include the Seahawks and Redskins was an odd one given their records last season, but it does make some sense in terms of marketing purposes.

The game helps incorporate the northwestern portion of the United States, which is a big market for the NFL. It also allows fans to play with Robert Griffin III, last year's Heisman Trophy winner. It also gets some buzz for the game in the D.C. area, which loves its football.

Anyway, when the demo is released next week, Seahawks fans everywhere will get to test the game out with their favorite team. Not a bad deal for something that's free.
