2012 Olympics: United States, China Lead The Way In Medals

Team USA has captured the lead in the overall and gold medal count with just two days of competition left in London. The U.S. has battled China the last two weeks for the top spot, and it appears they'll hold on thanks to some very impressive performances in volleyball, gymnastics, track & field and basketball.

Here is a current look at the top-five countries in the overall medal count.

United States - 94; 41 gold, 26 silver, 27 bronze
China - 81; 37 gold, 25 silver, 19 bronze
Russia - 63; 15 gold, 21 silver, 27 bronze
Great Britain - 57; 25 gold, 15 silver, 17 bronze
Germany - 42; 10 gold, 18 silver, 14 bronze
