The Los Angeles Angels and San Francisco Giants have been in talks with the Mariners for League according to a report on MLB.com. Giants beat writer Henry Schulman says the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking at League as well.
League lost his closer's job to Tom Wilhelmsen in May after a series of blown saves. The 29-year-old was a an All-Star in 2011 and finished the season 37 saves and a 2.79 ERA, but struggled as the M's closer at the beginning of the 2012 season.
Since Wilhelmsen's emergence as a dependable closer, League has become a trade chip, though his perceived value is at question because of his status of not being a closer.
