Mariners Offically Sign 2012 1st Round Pick Mike Zunino

According to the twitter universe, the Seattle Mariners have officially inked a deal with their first round, number three overall, pick in the 2012 draft Mike Zunino. The signing will be announced at a news conference tomorrow.

Zunino currently plays catcher for the University of Florida. He is a finalist for the Johnny Bench Award, which is awarded to the top catcher in the NCAA. He was also recently announced the winner of the Dick Howser Trophy, considered by many as the top award in collegiate baseball.

He is also a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award, which is given to the top amateur ballplayer in the nation. The winner of the Golden Spikes Award will be broadcast on ESPN on July 6.

Slight update - nice little bonus for Zunino.
