Were you planning on tuning into the Belmont Stakes this weekend, doing a little of whatever the traditions around the Belmont Stakes involve (are mint juleps and big hats only for the Derby or does all horse racing fly?)? Well, if you were, the whole thing just got a little less exciting, as it was announced that Triple Crown contender I'll Have Another was scratched with a leg injury. This injury ends, in super-boring fashion, I'll Have Another's bid to do what hasn't been done in decades - win the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Belmont Stakes back-to-back-to-back. Naturally, there was a little national sports-mourning around the nation to go along with that news but the good people at SBN Studios decided to provide a pick-me-up.
After the jump, check out SBNation's look at the
human side horse side of horse racing, as Belmont Stakes entrants Dullahan, Union Rags, and Paynter decide to cheer up the injured I'll Have Another by taking him out on the town for an unforgettable day in New York City.
