Mariners prospect Taijuan Walker wasn’t at his best last night, walking four and giving up four runs, but he did strikeout a season-high nine batters in six innings.

Walker has now made 10 starts on the season and has pitched 50.1 innings with 53 K/18 BB and a 2.68 ERA. He wasn’t on his best in every area yesterday, giving up his second home run of the season, but he did allow only three hits while fanning those nine batters.

Nick Franklin was 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in the seventh inning that gave the Generals a temporary lead. Francisco Martinez scored on a wild pitch strikeout in the ninth inning to give Jackson the 6-5 win.

Danny Hultzen gets the start this morning and you can follow along on the Jackson Generals website right here. Hultzen has allowed just five earned runs in his last nine starts combined.
