On Thursday, the news came out that Jamal Crawford intends to sign a contract with the Los Angeles Clippers once the NBA's moratorium is lifted to allow free agents to sign contracts. This news comes less than a week after Crawford and event organizers put on the Jamal Crawford A Plus Classic, benefiting the A Plus Youth Program in Seattle.
This is the second summer in a row that Crawford organized an NBA charity game benefiting the A Plus Youth Program. This year's charity game took place at Spokane Arena during Hoopfest weekend. Crawford's leadership attracted other Seattle-area NBA stars along with players like John Wall, Jeremy Pargo and Klay Thompson to participate in last Saturday's game.
SB Nation Seattle had the opportunity to talk with Crawford after the game to get his thoughts on the event, Brandon Roy's comeback and his motivations behind his community involvement.

Spencer Hawes reached an agreement with the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, extending his contract for two more years at $13 million. This agreement came just days after Hawes was in Spokane participating in the Jamal Crawford A Plus Classic on Saturday night.
The Seattle Prep grad and former Washington Husky is entering his sixth season in the NBA. Hawes averaged 9.6 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game for the Philadephia 76ers in the 2011-12 season.
The Seattle-native has been active in the Seattle basketball community since leaving Washington early for the NBA draft after his freshmen season. Hawes participated in 2011's Seattle NBA charity game and can frequently be spotted at UW sporting events.
SB Nation Seattle asked Hawes a few questions before last Saturday's charity game, covering topics such as Brandon Roy's comeback and his summer plans.
