Seattle Mariners Minors: Now Pitching: James Paxton

Stay connected for news and updates

Seattle Mariners left-handed pitching prospect James Paxton is now on the hill for the Jackson Generals. The southpaw has had some struggles this season but is coming off of his best start of the season last week:

6 innings, 3 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 9 K

It was his most efficient outing of the season, the first time he went six innings all year in five starts. However, in the start before that he gave up 6 ER in 2.1 innings and in the start before that he walked eight batters in 4.2 innings.

Overall this season, Paxton has 31 strikeouts and 16 walks in 23.1 innings. The strikeouts are very impressive but you’d like to see him be a little bit more like Cliff Lee and a little bit less like Brandon Morrow.

You can follow the game through Gameday, Radio, or milb.tv here from the Jackson website.
