The Belmont Stakes is the final race in the Triple Crown and the longest of the three. The event takes place on June 9 in New York.

The 2012 Belmont Stakes will take place on June 9. I'll Have Another has captured the first two legs of the Triple Crown and will be attempting to accomplish something that hasn't been done since Affirmed secured the Triple Crown in 1978.

Bodemeister has withdrawn from the Belmont Stakes and I'll Have Another will be benefiting from that scratch, although one wonders whether I'll Have Another will be able to perform quite as well in this final and longest race in the Triple Crown without being able to chase down Bodemeister in the home stretch.

The early odds for the Belmont have I'll Have Another as the betting favorite, at 3-2 odds to win. Union Rags, who did not run in the Preakness Stakes after a poor finish at the Kentucky Derby, is at 9-2.
