206 Clicks: Who Is Your Favorite Bad Seattle Mariner?

Stay connected for news and updates

Do you have a favorite bad Seattle Mariner? For every Ichiro, Alex Rodriguez, Ken Griffey Jr., Randy Johnson and Felix Hernandez, there is a handful of terrible players that have played in Seattle. A good friend of mine texted me that Munenori Kawasaki might be his favorite bad player of all-time. Why? My friend liked the fact that Kawasaki invented a dance and named it after himself. Not a bad reason to like a bad baseball player at all.

I took to Twitter asking everyone who there favorite "bad" Mariner was, here were some of the responses: Chone Figgins, Bobby Ayala, Rich Amaral, Glenallen Hill, Jeff Cirillo, Stan Javier, Russ Davis, Steve Trout, Gil Meche, Endy Chavez, Greg Briley, Pete O'Brien. My favorite lovable loser? John Halama.

Next game: Today, Mariners (15-18) at Yankees (17-14), 4:05 p.m. PT, ROOT Sports, 6.5 games back

Thursday's Tweet of the Day:

  • Nine local high school football players were nominated to play in the U.S. Army All-American bowl, including two players I've interviewed on this site, Tatum Taylor from O'Dea and Tere Calloway from Seattle Prep.
