Carter Capps Gets Himself Into (and out of) Jam

Stay connected for news and updates

This isn’t how you like to start an inning, if you’re Carter Capps (or anyone for that matter):

Pitcher Change: Carter Capps replaces Taijuan Walker.
Drew Garcia singles on a ground ball to center fielder Denny Almonte.
Andy Wilkins singles on a line drive to right fielder Johermyn Chavez. Drew Garcia to 2nd.
Seth Loman singles on a line drive to right fielder Johermyn Chavez. Drew Garcia to 3rd. Andy Wilkins to 2nd.

But at least it ended like this:

Jose Martinez strikes out swinging.
Jared Mitchell flies out to left fielder Daniel Carroll.
Justin Greene called out on strikes.

Capps struck out four in his season debut, over 1.2 innings. He now has pitched 2.2 innings and struck out six to start the 2012 season.

The Generals also hold onto a 3-2 lead after six inning, and Taijuan Walker is still eligible to pick up a win for his season debut.
