Taijuan Walker Watch: 7 Strikeouts Through 4

Stay connected for news and updates

Seattle Mariners top prospect Taijuan Walker is having a stellar debut for the AA Jackson Generals so far. Through 4 innings against the Birmingham Barons, Walker has struck out 7 and walked zero, with three hits allowed and 1 ER.

Walker has faced 14 batters so far and struck out half of them, with six going down by way of the swinging strikeout.

The lone run allowed by Walker came on a triple by Kenneth Williams, followed by a wild pitch from Taijuan. The Generals lead 3-1, behind a double from Nick Franklin, later being driven in by Rich Poythress on a RBI single.

Johermyn Chavez has also doubled, while Jesus Sucre and Gabriel Noriega each have one RBI each.

Danny Hultzen also struck out 7 through 4 innings yesterday before allowing the first three baserunners to reach in the fifth and being pulled without recording an out. Hopefully, Walker doesn’t follow the same fate.

More news on “Walker Strikeout Watch!” as it develops.
