2012 Masters Day Three Final Standings: Peter Hanson Leads With Phil Mickelson and Louis Oosthuizen Close Behind

No small amount of action went down at day three of the 2012 Masters tournament, but when all was said and done it was Peter Hanson who would take the lead with an 7-under, eight birdie day. He sits on top at 9-under overall.

Phil Mickelson is in second place with 8-under in total, after a day capped with a beautiful three eagle on hole thirteen. Louis Oosthuizen stands at 7-under in total, having shot 3-under on the day despite a bogey on holes four and eighteen.

Seattle-born Fred Couples opened the day in the lead but ended it tied for 11th place, as four bogeys and one double bogey took their toll. He's tied there with Portland-born Ben Crane, who had an up and down day of four birdies, three bogeys, and a double bogey to end the day exactly where he started, back in 11th place.

There's only a single point separating each place in the top ten, so tomorrow should see movement in the standings and, if we're lucky, a close duel in the finish.

Stay tuned to SB Nation Seattle for results from tomorrow, as well as SB Nation's central golf hub.
