During the top of the second inning, Sims says that manager Eric Wedge attributes Kyle Seager's improved approach at the plate to a better "tuck job", which leaves me hopelessly focused on that one scene from "Silence of the Lambs". That said, it seemed to work as Seager weaves one into center field for a base hit. Keep on tuckin', Kyle.
Brandon McCarthy, who is one of the funniest and most engaging athletes on Twitter, is starting against the Mariners for the second time in the first three games. I'm sure he's thrilled not to be matched up against Felix again. After K-ing Miguel Olivo, he sits with three strikeouts in two innings. After three half-innings, we still sit at 0-0.
