Fred Couples, Kyle Stanley and Ben Crane are the local Northwest-area golfers vying for the elusive green jacket that signifies a win at the Masters. The first round of the 2012 Masters is already in the books following Thursday's play and Lee Westwood leads the competitive field.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson both struggled in the opening round to varying degrees and golfers like Henrik Stenson had awful times attempting to close out their rounds. The tournament remains up for grabs, however, with competition only to intensify as the world's top players get a firm feel for the course. Although there is a chance of showers on Friday, the second round is currently scheduled to go on as planned.
