QB Max Browne of Sammamish's Skyline high school has decided to play his college ball at USC. Browne picked the Trojans over Oklahoma, Alabama, and Washington.

In the Class of 2013, Skyline's Max Browne (Sammamish, WA) is one of the top QBs in the entire nation. Many Husky and Cougar fans alike were hoping he'd stay in the state of Washington and either attend UW or WSU. Wednesday night, however, Browne chose Lane Kiffin and the University of Southern California.

At 6'5, Browne has ideal height to play the QB position in the Trojans pro style offense. Currently he's listed at 196 pounds, but he has the rest of his senior year and off-season workouts to gain some weight. Browne's accuracy, arm strength, and ability to step up in the pocket make him a perfect fit for USC.

Inevitably, he'll be compared to former Skyline QB and #1 QB prospect Jake Heaps. I don't necessarily think that's fair, because they're two different players. Browne is more of the prototypical pocket passer who stands tall and will step up into the rush. Heaps was more of a guy who would roll out of the pocket and take off if he sensed danger.

USC is doing what USC always does; stockpiling highly rated signal callers so when one graduates, they can simply plug in the next guy. I think Jesse Scroggins will probably be the guy after Matt Barkley leaves, but Browne has a good chance to make his way to the top of the heap when he arrives on campus this fall.
