Johnson is the second cornerback the Rams have selected within their first five picks of the draft, further filling a need for the Rams' defense.

With the 65th pick of the 3rd round in the 2012 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams have selected Trumaine Johnson, a cornerback from Montana. He's a zone corner that can tackle with power. He also has the ability to play at the safety spot which adds versatility to the Rams defensive backfield. Johnson joins North Alabama's Janoris Jenkins as two corners the Rams have drafted within their first five picks. Here is more on Johnson from Sports Illustrated.

Johnson was a consistent player at Montana and a lockdown corner opponents purposely stayed away from. He offers potential at both cornerback and safety and best fits a zone system or scheme that has him facing the action.

The Rams' next pick is the first selection of the 4th round, 96th overall. Head over to NFL.com to track every pick as the Draft moves on.
